Bob Long
 
 
 
Bob Long was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He has performed professionally since the age of sixteen. His brilliant piano virtuosity and inventiveness earned him national acclaim in the seventies as first prize winner of the Scott Joplin Piano Competition.
 
In the eighties, Bob began a three-year contract with the Hilton Hotel in Del Mar, California. He was voted, "Entertainer of the Year" in San Diego in 1987 and again in 1989. He performed with Chubby Checker in the 1988 Super Bowl half time show.
 
In the nineties, Bob began working in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has performed in most of the resorts on the Strip, including Harrah's, The Aladdin, Treasure Island, and the Mirage. He has performed and produced shows for many important hotels and conventions in Las Vegas. He has also played concerts and performed at many colleges and universities, including UCSD, UNLV, Los Angeles City College, and Palomar College. Bob conducts seminars and lectures on the history of jazz piano. The Liberace Foundation has hired Bob on several occasions to emcee their annual piano competition. He has played on major radio and television shows and has been featured in several major newspapers, including a three-page review in the Los Angeles Times.
 
Between 1982 and 1994 Bob made ten concert tours of Europe, and had three albums out on the "East/West" label. He has performed in over 300 European cities, primarily in Germany but in most other European countries as well. Video footage of some of these large, televised concerts is available upon request.
 
In 1998, Bob began sharing his talents with a worldwide audience by performing in the showrooms of some of the finest cruise ships. His show, An Evening of Piano Music and Laughter with Bob Long, has thrilled audiences on Celebrity, Holland America, the QE2, Princess, Seabourn, Crystal, Radisson, Renaissance, and others.
 
These days, his show continues to enthrall those lucky enough to be sailing on the same ships upon which Bob is playing. When not entertaining folks at sea, he divides his week with performances in both Las Vegas and Santa Barbara.
